Mount Kinabalu is located on the Malaysian state of Sabah in the Northern part of Borneo. Easily accessible by a 2 hour drive from the state capital, Kota Kinabalu.
Within Mount Kinabalu is the iconic Kinabalu Park at 6000 feet above sea level. This is the beginning and ending of the 5 km journey to the summit of Mount Kinabalu. You may choose to stay a night here before or after the climb. At 11000 feet is the Laban Rata Resthouse where each climber must stay the night. The journey to the summit begins at 3:00 a.m. the next morning to reach the summit at 13455 feet just in time for the amazing sunrise. Trek all the way down to Kinabalu Park to end the journey.

It is important to ensure that you are physically fit, able to climb up and down flights of stairs and do not suffer from any major sickness.
As the climb from Kinabalu Park to the summit can be quite chilly, windy and rainy, we advise you to bring warm clothing, rain coat, woolly hat, good walking shoes, long pant, glove, and an additional set if they get wet.
We also advise you to bring along a water proof backpack to carry your personal effects to include camera, high energy food, medicine (altitude sickness), water bottle etc. Porters are available to carry the heavier stuff if you choose to bring them.
