Kota Kinabalu is the capital of Malaysia's Sabah state in the northern part of the island of Borneo. Often referred to as KK, it's a coastal city partly surrounded by rainforest and South China Sea. KK city centre is compact and easy to get around. The locals are friendly, and the sunset is beautiful.

Alongside swanky new malls and expensive condos, are old KK with its market brimming with sea creature and fresh produce, and busy fishers shuttling about the waterfront. This may be a city on the move with the 21st century, but its old world charm and history are very much alive.

KK is an ideal place to stay and take advantage of the day tours to hinterland of Mount Kinabalu, Kiulu River Rafting, Mari Mari Cultural Village and day outing to Manukan Island located in Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park opposite KK.

Day 1     Home - Kota Kinabalu
               Arrive at Kota Kinabalu airport, transfer to hotel at city centre. Free at leisure. 
              Overnight Grandis hotel.

Day 2     Kota Kinabalu
               After breakfast, free at leisure. Discover KK on foot. Proceed to Jalan Tun Fuad Stephens
              located along the seafront from Suria Sabah Mall where your hotel is located. Discover the
              fresh produce at Central Market, Pilipino souvenir and handicraft market, numerous Cafes
              at KK Waterfront and other interesting small shops along the way. Another route is to cross
              Jalan Tun Razak in front of your hotel to the banking area where HSBC is and the starting
              point Jalan Gaya where you will see many interesting shops selling from local food, souvenir,
              handicraft, and convenient stores. Jalan Gaya attracts many tourists and on every Sunday
              morning, the street is closed for a Sunday Market that sells everyday household goods, plants,
              pets, etc that creates a very good local Sabahan atmosphere of varies races and tribes.

Day 3     Kota Kinabalu - home
               After breakfast, free at leisure till transfer to airport. (breakfast included)
